Technical Direction | Carpentry | Lighting Design
Hello! I’m Nick Forrest, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre with a specialization in Design and Technology at the University of North Texas, with an expected graduation in May 2026. I bring over a decade of experience in lead carpentry and lighting design, along with several years of CNC programming and operation. My hands-on skillset, problem-solving mindset, and attention to technical precision drive my passion for bringing theatrical designs to life.
Outside of my professional work, I enjoy exploring the DFW area with my wife and creating woodworking pieces such as cutting boards, bowls, and pens. I am also currently working alongside my dad to build out the interior structure of his 2,400-square-foot woodworking shop. This project has involved framing interior walls, planning the shop layout, and developing a functional workspace for tools and fabrication projects. Experiences like this allow me to continually refine my craftsmanship while applying the same building and problem-solving skills used in carpentry and technical theatre.
As I continue to grow in the field, I am actively seeking opportunities in technical direction and carpentry leadership. I am especially interested in collaborative projects and hands-on production environments where I can contribute to building high-quality scenic work while continuing to expand my technical and leadership skills.
